Zymöl was created by people who
understand all about having a clean car and exactly
how to keep it that way.
The products are by far the best available and we
have tried many others. Listed below are a few hints
and tips on how we would suggest your car should be
prepared.
Renowned for the preparation of their cars we wanted
the best product available to give them that final
finishing touch and Zymöl was it.
Now many years later the massive use of Zymöl
has given us a huge wealth of knowledge which we can
share with anyone who simply want to either keep their
car clean or prepare for concours events.
THE ZYMOL PROCESS EXPLAINED.
Firstly the cars paintwork should be washed thoroughly
with Zymöl Clear Autobathe
The second process whether it is a new or used vehicle
should be Lehm
Klay ,which removes all forms of paintwork
oxidisation and debris.
Next would be a base to the wax called HD-Cleanse
producing depth and a silky finish before the final
stage.
The wax is the final stage and contains 5 to 10 times
more carnauba than the industry standard. It will
leave your car with what is normally reported as "an
unbelievable finish".
HINTS & TIPS
Washing: always wash your vehicle having at least
2 buckets at your disposal. 1 for the paintwork and
the second for the more grimey areas i.e wheels and
arch liners.
Rinse the vehicle with cool water before starting
to sponge the car down. With a
Zymöl sponge and Zymöl Clear
in a clean bucket with clean cool water (never hot,
to reduce streaking) firstly sponge down the cars
roof and rinse with cool water. Then with the same
process work around the cars windows and top panels
again rinsing thoroughly and finally working your
way to the bottom of the vehicle.
Always leave the wheels and under arches till last
using a different sponge and water.
Dry the vehicle with a Zymöl synthetic chamois
and you are ready to Klay the vehicles paint. To convince
yourself that the paint requires this process, remove
the cellophane wrapper from a packet of cigarettes
and insert your fingers, then gently wipe over your
paintwork. The cellophane magnifies the dirt on your
paint and normally feels like sandpaper.
To Lehm Klay the paint, simply spray Lehm
Lube onto the highest panel of the car
usually the roof and using a piece of the Klay work
in a side to side motion until the paint goes silky
smooth. Keep turning the Klay inside out to expose
a fresh surface. Please ensure no large particles
of grit or debris is picked up by the Klay. Working
your way around the car until all the cars paint is
de contaminated and simply dry with a towel.
The klay process should only ever need doing once
if the Zymöl treatment is carried out correctly
and applied as per the instructions.
The next stage is the HD-Cleanse. Using a Zymöl
pre-wax applicator pad slightly dampened with water,
squirt a line of HD-Cleanse down the centre of the
pad; this is enough for 1 full panel.
Working in straight lines rub the pad over the cars
paint with a medium pressure and remove with a Zymöl
Towel almost as soon as the whole panel
is covered- again in straight lines.
After completing each individual panel finally give
the vehicle a quick dust over to ensure nothing is
missed and then waxing is the only process left. HD
Cleansing should be carried out either every 6 waxes
or every 6months.
Finally the waxing: Carnauba in its natural form
is harder than concrete and also repels water, with
5-10 times the industry standard very little wax needs
to be applied to the car. A standard 226g pot of wax
should treat your car approx 35-40 times so only very
thin layers are required. My choice of wax would be
either Titanium
or Concours
which is applied by hand. Take a pea size of wax from
the pot and by rubbing your hands together vigorously,
produce a film of wax on your palms and wipe directly
with your hands onto the paint (ensuring your hands
are clean and no jewellery is worn).
Depending on the type of wax leave on for the designated
amount of time and then taking a Zymöl Microwipe
(not a towel) wipe once over the surface in the same
directon finally dusting the paint gently. A little
tip is to go back to the car 2-3hours later and once
again give it a final dust over with a microwipe.
The above tips are suggestions and individual instructions
on the products should be adhered to-
